Around the world with Dim: April 2007

hello there!
its been a very very long time since i've written i know but just a quick one to let you all know im still alive and well!melbourne ,the city i have called home (and probably always will!)for so long sadly is for me,and for the moment no more as it is time once again to move on to warmer climbs and on to new adventures!what a truly fantastic city!so vibrant,elegant and sophisticated with enough culture to find yourself forever trying to find its end.there's always something going on in melbourne and most of the time,dare i say it...too much!as it's virtually impossible to get around fast enough to see and do all that you want to as you're so well and truly spoilt for choice!never a bad thing and for this remarkable place has an edge over pretty much any city ive been to as it caters for all in seemingly every way! and i love it!

we've seen and done so much here and its very sad to leave great memories and great friends behind.a couple of highlights have to be the great ocean road,lake eildon,england australia one day cricket international at the mcg stadium and the australian tennis open.what a city for sports!the cricket,formula 1,tennis,world swimming championships and the list goes on and on!i also attended the first game of the afl season(aussie rules footy) which kicked ass but sadly i cannot show you pictures of that as my camera was stolen not so long ago along with around 500 pictures on it of the last 3 months activities!i know...im devastated!oh well,its a great shame i cannot show you alot more of what ive been up to but nothing i can do about that.

sadly,for ross and i,we've had to go our separate ways and he has had to fly home to england and conclude the trip on a high and be home for the summer.hey brother!hope alls well,miss ya,luv ya,see ya when i get back!legend!!!! what a bloody legend and such an amazing time we've had!so much has happened over the last year and a bit and i cherish every moment!good on ya rossco x

well,as it has started to cool down in dear ol' victoria now so instead of splashing out on some winter warmers i decided to buy myself a one way ticket to the whitsundays on the east coast instead!its so nice to feel warm again!haha it was starting to remind me of home in melbourne(bloody cold!)beautiful as it is though i have to remind myself that im still travelling,not at home and here to explore new things so here i am.i was a bit nervous about travelling on my own but im alot more used to it now and have met so many people and im alot more relaxed toward the whole scenario now and settled into it.after a couple of days (and a few beers!)in airlie beach i headed north via the greyhound bus to tiny little town called home hill where ive met up with my mate marie from good ol' bury for a spot of good ol' fruit pickin!how nice!hehe had to do it sooner or later!i rocked up to the backpackers early afternoon and later that evening i found out i was working the following morning at 6am!nice!i barely got my feet in the door and my name was up on the work sheet!hmmm.you dont really get a choice wether you work or not staying here so its quite full on and you work where you're damn well given!hehe full on but works work n moneys money hey!

so,here i am,its sunday and ive worked all weekend on two different farms and now have experience planting pumpkins,picking melons and weeding that bloody chilli pepper patch!now i love a spot of gardening but bending over for 8 hours pretty much uninterrupted in 32 degree sun,weeding row upon row of chilli beds has half killed me!i kid you not!and dont laugh!: ) tomorrow i look forward to picking good ol' water melons again!something i didn't enjoy so much on my first day but now realise its bonuses!mainly due to the fact the on my first night here i hadn't planned on working so soon,went to the local for a pool competiton and got rather drunk!only to get back to the hostel around 12.30 am to see my name upon the worksheet to start at 6am!sheizer!aah well,even though i did start as i really didn't want to go on in a dreadfull hungover state i was gleeful inside at my $100 win at the pool comp!even more so was i at the half case of beer i won at the doubles pool comp,and yet again at the bonus $50 i won from a local supposed pool shark after that so all in all it was worth a day of agony!hehe sweeeeeeeet :) many apologies for the very poor insight into what i've exactly been up to over the last few months,my bad,i've left it so long that it'd take me far too long and i'd just bore you to death with a million pages to read but hopefully i can keep it a little more up to date from now on! love and respect to one and all,for all you europeans out there,have a fantastic summer!and you guys in victoria,enjoy your winter!here its summer all year long!yippeeeeeeeeee i know...im an arsehole sorry take care damo xxx : )
