hello all!
just a short note just to clarify my present situation and to let everyone know that im still alive!not much to write about just yet as im still on the island of koh pha ngan although i did make a journey off the island recently to burma (myanmar) for a new visa but it was a 24 hour turnaround and i was soon back on this lovely little island before i knew it!the trip went really smooth, apart from getting ff the sleeping boat, wired and half asleep and getting into the wrong pick up!i didnt know,i just went for the 1st guy that shouted "ranong, ranong" n there i was!ended up in some dingy street at 5am,sat on a plastic chair, bought a coffee from the strategically placed plastic table there in the street and wiated for more instructions!with an offering of food which i gratefully accept as the ticket includes free breakfast i then start to perk up a little just as im asked for money for the toast that was just cooked for me. hmmmm something not quite right here i thought as i handed the toast back that was then strategically placed back in the toaster for the next sleepwalking mug, sorry, customer to come along,5 minutes pass and then there was one!all the other people that had been dropped there with me had all gotten into buses and driven off leaving me on my jack jones in a dirty, dark street at 5am without a clue and still pretty dazed!nice!looking at me knowingly the lady ushers me into a waiting pickup and charges me 50 baht to go around the block to the place i should've gone in the first place!what happens is the guy picks you up from the boat knowing that you're not going with their company, takes you to pay for breakfast at the street cafe(probably his wifes!) then charges you to take you to the cafe where you should've gone in the first place!now as this all went very smoothly it all went right over my head and was actually quite funny when i woke up but on my arrival to the right cafe the woman just laughed at me and shook her head as if i should've known better!well, she's probably right!an easy trip was next to come in a space wagon type bus for so many hours then numerous immigration offices and then a longtail boat over to ranong from thailand which all ran smoothly and i love the way that you pull up to the immigration and customs on a boat as they're all in the river on stilts and theres a customs raft off a little island on the way back that checks you for excess cigarettes etc!now on another day this journey may have taken a different turn as the weather was not the greatest but luckily for me the rain showers seemed to hit everywhere but us and the waves were just about handlable but i know others that did not have quite such a smooth crossing!anyway, just got my arse in gear and finally and managed to make a move to the other side of the island to stay with my little dog from four years ago, seamus!although i've ended up with three to look after! thats typical!i leave two dogs behind and inherit three more!other than having to buy food for four hungry mouths my spending was going fairly well and have managed to claw back some much needed funds from my daily budget as ive been under budget everyday for a while now but having your own kitchen and a place in the quite side of the island helps alot!now im perched in a little old skool bungalow on the mountain with a beautiful breeze cutting right through the hut all night long and a sea view from my window!was lovely to wake up to this morning!the cool morning breeze blowing through the window and through my mozzie net and upon the raising of and eye seeing the turqouise shade of the sea with the morning sun reflecting off of it!beauty!im still managing to keep the yoga going up to now and did an hour of visualisation techniques today and an hour of yoga although its not so easy here as it was in my house but nevertheless it has to be done and im starting to feel the benefits from the practice now and can feel and move energies and feel my cakra points which is cool and very interesting!don't think i'll be levitating for a while but rome wasn't built in a day hey!ross should be back from koh samui tomorrow with a couple of friends from back home so it should be a great couple of weeks ahead but im going to try very hard to keep my yoga practice going!be a little strange at first probably as ive been staying alone for so long but will be cool!after all, playing solo frisbee isn't much fun and my dog just runs off with it!looking forward to checking out the east coast again and showing the lads what the island has to offer.ive been trying to send pictures to you all for a long time now but gmail just doesnt seem to want to know anymore but i'll keep trying as ive some great shots to share with you all!anyway, better be off to take my dog for a swim in the sea!(it kills his fleas, ticks and gives him a lovely fairy soft coat!bless him!; )
supposed to be off to bali soon to fly to australia from there but i dont have enough money to fly as it costs too much so may be taking a little overland expedition through malysia, indonesia to bali,so if anyone has done that trip please could you give me details which would be greatly appreciated!tanx!ok thats about it once again ive managed to fill a massive page with much about nothing and not managed to tell all the interesting things that,no doubt will enter my mind a few seconds after i press the send button but just letting you know im still alive, may not write for a little while as im off up the coast but i'll speak to you all soon!
big love to you all
